At the 5th BRI Academic Forum on Sino-Pakistani Scientific, Technological and Economic Cooperation held on December 3, the âCPEC Science Communication Networkâ was jointly launched by the University of Beijing Technology and Commerce (BTBU), Beijing Science and Technology Association (BAST), Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST), Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and Science and Technology Information Center of Pakistan (PASTIC).
The launch ceremony was chaired by Dr Di Yuna, Executive Director of the Pakistan Study Center of Science & Technology and Economy at BTBU.
The âCPEC Science Communication Networkâ was jointly launched by Mr. Ahmed Farooq, Minister / Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Beijing; Prof. Wang Qinglin, Deputy CEO, Department of International Affairs, CAST; Professor Huang Xiankai, secretary of the CPC BTBU committee; Mr. Liu Xiaokan, vice president, member of the CPC BAST leadership group; and Professor Wang Li, vice president of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology.
After its official launch, all participants gained an in-depth understanding of the âConcrete Mathematics Exhibitionâ science communication project through a video and on-site visit.
The central idea of ââthe exhibition is to train in mathematical thinking, and the exhibits used in the exhibition are common to the traveling exhibitions of the Beijing Mobile Science Center, allowing the younger generation to learn the history of mathematics, to appreciate the beauty of mathematics, experience the fun of mathematics, observe mathematical applications and train logical thinking.
During the book donation, on behalf of the network, Professor Li Junkai, director of the international office of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, and Zhang Yongfeng, deputy director of the Beijing Science Center, donated books to Mr. Muhammad Suleman Mahsud, Education Attaché, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Beijing, and Mr. Muhammad Junaid, Second Secretary, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Beijing.

The establishment of the network, which addresses a wide range of livelihood needs, is in line with the goal of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). With the advancement of CPEC, an increasing number of schools in Pakistan have established Chinese language courses and Chinese research centers, and have conducted exchanges with China.
Meanwhile, more and more young students are eager to learn more about China’s science and technology education and development. During President Alvi’s visit to China this year, the Joint Science and Technology Working Group was established for the first time, bringing Sino-Pakistani S&T cooperation to a new level, with science communication being an important element. bilateral S&T cooperation.
The main objective of this CPEC scientific communication network is to create a platform for information sharing, mutual assistance for public welfare, academic exchanges and people-to-people exchanges in the field of science communication between China and Pakistan.
Bilateral joint efforts will create brand-name activities for Sino-Pakistani science and technology cooperation and promote the high-quality development of CPEC.
