Mochabin open source quad core network card

Globalscale Technologies has created a new open source quad-core network card designed to provide users with high-speed connectivity using the latest Wi-Fi 6, 5G and 10 Gigabit Ethernet standards. The Mochabine is designed for a variety of firewall, networking, SDWAN, and NAS applications.

Mochabin Specifications:

Quad-core Armada 7040 with 4 ARM72 cores at 1.4 Ghz
4 GB or 8 GB of DDR4 (soldered in option)
16 GB onboard eMMC
2x USB3.0
1 SFP + 10 GB, 1 SFP 1 GB
4x Gb Lan, 1x WAN with POE input
1x M.2 for SATA
1x M.2 for Cellular (we tested optional 4G and 5G modules)
1x MiniPCIe for Wi-Fi (NXP 9098 802.11ax + BT5 for Wi-Fi version)
1x 10 pin JTAG for programming
1x microUSB for console
1x MikroBUS 16 pin connector for extension and accessories

Early subscription promises from contributors are now available for the creative project starting at around $ 159 or £ 215 (according to current exchange rates). “The Mochabin builds on the community and the experience of ESPRESSObin by adding a quad-core ARM A72 processor without fan running at 1.4 Ghz. We’ve gone from the previous maximum of 2GB DDR3 to 4GB or 8GB of optional DDR4. Most importantly, the Mochabin has a native 10G network through an SFP + cage as well as flexible slots for M.2, PCI, and MiniPCIe interfaces.

Assuming Mochabin’s fundraising campaign successfully increases its required engagement target and the project progresses smoothly, the global expedition is expected to take place around May 2022. Read more about the Mochabine Networking consultancy project review the promotional video below.

“Mochabin is designed to support 4G and 5G applications through the m.2 interface. These can be used for cellular backhaul and communications to replace the ISP modem. With OpenWRT and Replica One software, the Mochabin can be an open source router with support for multiple gigabytes and 4x Gb LAN.

Cubbit-powered Mochabin. CubbitCell is a distributed NAS company that recently raised $ 7 million in venture capital following its successful Kickstarter campaign. The original Cubbit Cell used our ESPRESSObin platform as the backbone of the network. We are continuing this partnership by porting the CubbitCell distributed NAS solution to the Mochabin quad-core, which enables faster networking and processing speeds.
